These activities can be modified for every age and can be done outside of spring break as well! Follow along with us and bust boredom one day at a time.
Day 1: Spring has Sprung
Spring is here, and day one is all about celebrating it! Start off spring break with free printable activities and outdoor-themed activities. Enjoy the weather, explore the outdoors, and create new adventures! Begin your day with an activity like Color by Number Spring Flower Printable!, Seasons and Holidays Activity Book, or a DIY Springtime Sensory Bin! All or one of these activities should help spring your kiddos into learning for the week. After that, try out something new! Get crafty by making a DIY Bird Feeder and use it to count how many birds use it. While you are outside bird watching, continue the celebration of nice weather by getting out and playing Our Best Outdoor Games! Getting active creates an appetite, learn all about the earth with a sweet treat, DIY Edible Soil Layers. Day 2: Alphabet Soup
Support alphabet awareness, building recognition of letter shapes and sounds with a full day dedicated to Alphabet Soup! The alphabet is an essential foundation for future learning, so let’s celebrate accordingly. Start off day two with a free activity like Spelling Fun With AlphaBee Printable, Spelling Fun With AlphaBee Printable, Learn to Write Letters, or Learning the ABCs Just Got Sweeter. Learning is done in all sorts of ways; try getting hands-on by creating a Handprint Alphabet. As you continue with your at-home learning plans, we’ve got a few ideas for incorporating outside exercise and play into your routines. Grab some chalk and try Move and Learn Alphabet Hopscotch! After getting active, continue learning while eating, build some tasty ABCs, then gobble them up. Wrap up the day by getting together and playing a game of Alphabet Bingo. Day 3: Happy Camping
Day three of spring break calls for a camping celebration! Build up the anticipation for the day by learning about 10 Easy Steps to Teaching Insects and Springtime Measurements Printable. Little kids love the outdoors and spending time in the fresh air. Most kids also love making art, which is proven to increase creativity, imagination, self-confidence, fine more skills, and more. Only two days left of spring break! Make the most of your time by having Fun with Numbers. Build children’s competence in math at home by playing games! One of our favorites is DIY Math Bowling. After bowling, heat up your math skills by playing 1-2-3. The Floor is Lava! Wrap up the day with a challenge; who can add up the most items with a Math Scavenger Hunt? Continue the math fun with Counting Puzzle Cards and Take 10! Color Bug Catchers!
Day 5: Virtual Road Trip
The last day of our spring break extravaganza is coming to a close! Wrap up this week with a celebratory virtual road trip. Check out our All-American At-Home Road Trip! As always, start your day with a free activity Word Search Printable: Find All 50 States, United States Flash Cards, or Exploring the States through Maps and Visitor’s Guides! Have your kiddos begin thinking about how to pack for a trip by packing a mini suitcase! After packing up suitcases, celebrate with a Family Dance Party! Dancing will definitely work up an appetite; quench that hunger with 6 Healthy Travel Snacks for Kids! Finally, wrap up today and the week with an All-American (Screen-free) Road Trip!
